The university has invested a lot into the support for students.
Here are the different services you can contact:
Inclusive Support: We strive to remove any barriers for anyone with disabilities as far as possible, to ensure that we provide an inclusive environment. More information can be found in our Disability and inclusive support pages and student disability policy. You can also view our student support privacy notice.
Interpreters (BSL): Our team of interpreters provide access to key events throughout the year. For example Open Days, Offer Holder Days, information visits, and all university Graduation Ceremonies. We work closely with course teams and timetabling. This ensures interpreters will be in all your lectures, seminars, any practical sessions. You can expect the same interpreters in each module throughout the semester.
Student Wellbeing Ambassadors:
We have a team of dedicated Student Wellbeing Ambassadors who are currently studying at the university who receive specialist training to provide one-to-one support across campus.
In approval with the Inclusive support team, they can assist with specific practical support, including getting around campus and using assistive technology. They are also available to help with note-taking and support in practical sessions.
Have any questions? Want more information about working with Interpreters and Student Wellbeing Ambassadors whilst studying at University? Please email our Inclusive Support Team or text +44 (0) 7973660619.
