There is a range of different support available for those affected by addiction. You can access self-help through apps and support websites, as well as making a referral to access personalised support.
For students
The student Counselling, Mental Health & Wellbeing service . In addition to providing wellbeing support for a range of issues that affect students, the service can talk you through your reporting options and what support is available
Student Support is the student information and support centre who provide all students with a high-quality information and support service. If your query is more specialist, they will help you as much as they can before referring you directly to the team who can help. Find them on the ground floor of the Student Centre
The Student Union Advice Service is a free, confidential, independent and experienced service for the student community to access representation and support

You can report anonymously or you can submit a report with contact details and speak with a trained member of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Team or The People Team, to discuss your disclosure and options. This in in line with the University’s privacy statement and does not instigate the start of a formal complaint

EDI Contacts & Colleague Networks. The University has several staff network groups which you can view on the staff Intranet through clicking the link. These groups provide a forum for staff to discuss issues of mutual interest and the ability to raise issues in a safe environment. They can help new staff settle in, provide networking opportunities across departments and increase staff knowledge of the University's activities.

Human Kind is an Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service in Cumbria.
CADAS work with individuals and communities in Cumbria to reduce the harm caused by substance.
If you live in another region, you can find your local provider by searching for drug and alcohol support on your local council website.
Gambling Information and Support Agencies
Beacon Counselling Trust are based in Liverpool and offer support for those affected by gambling personally, or by someone in their family. You can contact them by calling 0151 2260696, emailing gamcare@beaconcounsellingtrust.co.uk or completing the referral form on their site.
Gamcare provide a wide range of information and support. Their website contains a wealth of self help material including information on how to self exclude effectively, a self help workbook and a self assessment tool.
BigDeal is a place for young people to find information and support related to gambling, either for themselves or someone they care about.
